The Herefordshire village of Almeley is to the west of the county, some 30 kilometres north west of Hereford. It has a rich history dating back to the Domesday Book, and also held its own races in the mid-1800s. However, the only recorded meeting took place on Friday 3rd April 1868 and few details are known about the meeting.
